Mr.Sameep Shastri

Chairman


Mr. Sameep Shastri is a Social Entrepreneur and currently serves as the President of the Confederation of Young Leaders (CYL). Taking forward the illustrious legacy of his grandfather former Prime Minister of India Bharat Ratna Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, he has been active in public service since many years now. He is a charismatic leader, versatile, performance-driven and armed with a tremendous sense of social responsibility, he brings to CYL a renewed sense of vigour and energy. He exhibits a high degree of flexibility, resourcefulness and commitment to work and thrives on challenges that require him to walk the tight rope. Owing to his warm personality and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, he enjoys huge mass appeal whether he is walking with the people or leading them.

Being the youngest grandson of the much respected former Prime Minister of India, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, Mr. Sameep was introduced to the values of integrity and honest work ethics very early in life. These values have helped him build a strong network of like-minded people in the field of social work and business through which he regularly organizes and attends social and cultural events.

He also serves as one of the Trustees of the Lal Bahadur Shastri Education Trust which itself runs over 150 educational institutions across India. Through the Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership, he aims to work towards building a strong, skilled cadre of public leaders for all sectors. Mr. Shastri also serves as the Board Member at BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry which serves as the apex organization for cooperation and engagement between industries and SMEs based in BRICS nations.

Powering his vision of creating a 21st-century leadership to combat present and future challenges, he exhibits exemplary dedication as a youth activist and public speaker and regularly appears on panels organized by media, government & universities globally.

Sameep holds a postgraduate degree from Oxford B, United Kingdom. His undergraduate degree was an Honours in Business from the Western International University, Phoenix, Arizona, the United States of America.

Mr. Himadrish Suwan

Director General


Mr. Himadrish Suwan is an institution builder and a leader whose words and work in the field of public service are inspiring a generation. He is currently serving as the Director-General at the Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership (IIGL) and the Chairman of the Confederation of Young Leaders (CYL). Mr. Suwan is also a Columnist and Citizen Journalist (C.J) for several reputed dailies and magazines.

Powering his vision of creating a 21st-century leadership to fight 21st-century challenges, he has led several public projects on issues of urgent public importance. He is a regular invitee at various conferences, seminars and international and national events. He regularly appears on the panel organized by All India Radio, Niti Central and National Institute of Open Schooling, Ministry of HRD. His numerous suggestions were implemented by various public-authorities and response to his petitions and writings are being prominently highlighted in the mainstream media. In addition, Mr. Suwan serves as Officer on Special Duty at the National Institute of Cleanliness Education & Research (NICER) and Member of Governing Council at the Indian Institute of Photography (IIP). He has successfully led many projects under the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan - Urban in association with several Members of Parliament.

Acknowledging his efforts towards Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan (Clean India Mission) BJYM, the youth wing of Bhartiya Janata Party; India's largest political party in terms of representation in the national parliament and state assemblies nominated him to lead the Prime Minister's ambitious Clean India project in the national capital among the youth citizenry. As the Advisor at the Confederation of Indian Universities (CIU) created during the NDA regime in the year 2004, Mr.Suwan has tried to unite all the 753 universities in the country for optimizing the available resources in the country with a view to stopping the duplication of effort s in the area of higher and tertiary education.

During his college years, Mr. Suwan was also appointed as the Media President of Delhi University Students Union (DUSU). Delhi University Students Union is the umbrella students union of one of the premier universities of the country University of Delhi. In addition, he also serves on the Advisory boards of several prominent organizations and institutions.

He has co-edited several books and has written widely for professional journals including "Foreign Policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi" published by Gyanda Prakashan. He was nominated by the Speaker of the World Spiritual Parliament (WSP) as Member, WSP in 2018.

Mr.Himadrish is listed among India’s most influential youth with a lot of Indian and International Awards honouring him for his work including the "Global Young Achieves Award" constituted by IAEWP (Affiliated to United Nations: ECOSOC, UNICEF, UNCED, UNESCO, DPI).

Mr. Vansh Saluja

Director, Projects


Mr. Vansh Saluja is a noted social entrepreneur based in New Delhi, India having wide National and International experience working in the Development and Government sector. He was a distinguished WISE Learner's Fellow with Qatar Foundation from 2017-18. He has delivered guest lectures and workshops at both International and National Conferences and institutions on issues ranging from education, elections, governance, polity and policy.

His experience with Governance and administration is immense and he has wide experience of working with various Ministries, Government Departments, Bureaucrats and Politicians. In past 5 years, he has worked with different levels of Governments and Ministries and led several projects with Macro social impact. His passion for the education sector is well known, and he has been working at the intersection of high-school, university education and skill development since several years now. He is also serving as part of the Governing Body of Maitreyi College, Delhi University and has served in various capacities in School Management Committees in Government Schools under Department of Education, Government of Delhi.

He is a regular invitee to various colleges, schools, conferences, panels and forums as a speaker to speak on issues of education, youth employment, entrepreneurship, government and public policy. Internationally, he has also been a part of panels in Africa, Indonesia and various countries in Europe. He was also the convener and the speaker of the first National Youth Parliament organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs, and Sports, Government of India in 2018.

Taking his vision of Social Empowerment and Youth Development forward he co-founded the Confederation of Young Leaders with Mr. Himadrish Suwan and Mr. Sameep Shastri and also serves as the Chief Operations Officer. He shall also be officiating as the Program Director of Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership established by CYL for realizing the vision of creating 50,000 public leaders in the coming decade.

Mrs. Malvika Shastri

Director, Communications


Mrs. Malvika Shastri shall be serving as the Director of Communications at the Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership (IIGL). She has been actively working in the field of media and communication since a very long time and has vast experience as a freelance content writer and social media marketer. She has delivered a wide variety of content for writing projects like blogs, press releases, project reports, event reports and website content among others.She has previously provided content writing services to organisations like ATS Group, The Aga Khan Foundation, the Dalmia Group, CCL India, the ITS Education Group, DLF Group, Jaypee Group, Vatika Group, BPTP, Ramprastha and Supertech Developers. She has also headed a 5-member delegation to Ufa, Russia for the First BRICS and SCO Youth Forum in July 2015.

Her previous work experiences also include stints with national dailies like ‘The Indian Express’ and ‘Daily News and Analysis’ (DNA) and her work as a media specialist with a development organisation. Her job role in that organisation was to write development focussed stories and create space for them in various media by adopting different forms of engagement. She was also responsible for handling media relations and correspondence, organising media events to create platforms where development sector representatives could interface with the various media at the national as well as state levels and establishing tie ups with media organisations for continual coverage of stories from the development sector. Mrs.Malvika was also nominated for the CNN Aspiring Journalist Award in 2007. As head of the Communications at IIGL, she would also be working in close proximity with the leadership team to shape future leaders possessing excellent PR and communication skills.

Mr. Ezeugo Nnamdi

Director, African Affairs


Mr. Ezeugo Nnamdi is a profound and Astute Pan-African hailing from Nigeria, he is secular, a traditionalist, a champion of diversity and gender balance. In 2017, Ezeugo was the convener of constitutional amendment of The Association of African Student in India (AASI), He served as The National University Coordinator of AASI from 2016, was elected and will remain Secretary General of The AASI till Mid 2019. He was elected Secretary General of The Africa-Asia Youth Foundation (AAYFO) an international Cooperation of African and Asian youths globally for a two year term. As Secretary General of The AAYFO, Ezeugo has preached mutual cooperation between Africa and Asia Youths geared towards building a stronger network of Global South young Servant Leaders. His activism on biodiversity preservation of the environment contributed to his being a founding member of The India-Africa Youth Energy Forum (IA-YEF) and the progressive African Youths For Change (PAY-C).

Prof. Dr. Satish Chandra

Consultant


Dr. Chandra is the former Provident Fund Commissioner, Government of India and Advisor, Government of Afghanistan. Dr. Satish Chandra has worked for three decades in different areas of public management, especially in the Public Management and Development Administration. Dr. Chandra holds MS in Public and Non Profit Management from Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, NYU, USA, PhD from DMS, IIT Delhi, India – aside from several other academic credentials in multiple areas. He serves as Member, Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), Confederation of Indian Industries(CII), All India Management Association (AIMA) and Indian Association on Social Security(IASS). He has worked as a staff member with UNDP Afghanistan, USAID, and Multilateral programmes on governance, policy, budget, institutional development, audit, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and treasury and investment management functions, all within different settings of public administration in India, the USA, and Afghanistan.
