About the Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership (IIGL)

Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership (IIGL) has been established by the Confederation of Young Leaders (CYL) with active cooperation and assistance from the Confederation of Indian Universities for complementing and supplementing the efforts made in our country fortranslating the wishes, aims and objectives as set out by the Government of India and State Governments into action. The institute would serve the needs of the Government, Non-Governmental and Private Sector by conducting studies, training,research, publications, conferences, seminars and consultancy in the field of Governance, Public Leadership and Entrepreneurship.
Taking forward the illustrious legacy of the Second Prime Minister of India, Bharat Ratna, Sh. Lal Bahadur Shastri, IIGL was jointly established under the guidance and leadership of the former Prime Minister's family. The institution thereby lives by the principles of honesty, transparency and accountability which the Former Prime Minister lived by and envisions imparting the same in its youth citizenry.
The Institute envisions to conduct different academic, professional and vocational courses related to leadership and governance besides applied researches on these subjects. The Institute has a vision to provide training to more than 50,000 Youth in the areas of Leadership,Governance, Entrepreneurship, Management, International Affairs, Urban Planning, Media Studies, Ecology, Environment, Pollution control, Disaster Management, Sustainable Development, and Rural Development overthe next 10 years.
The Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership (IIGL) would be organizing and conducting programmes having social, cultural, developmental, educational, scientific, technological, environmental, economic and positive contents forthe optimum development of our country.
The Institute has envisaged a ten year(2018-2027) plan with requisite learning and teaching methodologies for ensuring gainful employment forthe young boys and girls belonging to all the States and the Union Territories for producing trained manpowerfor leading flagship projects of the Government like Make in India, Clean India, Skill India, Digital India, Startup India etc. Besides studies, training,research, consultancy and production of audio-video materials, the Institute has also decided to initiate a massive publications programme.
The Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership (IIGL) would bring out a multi-volume Encyclopedia of Good Governance Practices and Leadership Principles to be circulated among Universities, Colleges, Schools, Ministries, Departments, Embassies and International Organisations.
The Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership (IIGL) has also resolved to associate, collaborate, federate and affiliate with like-minded Ministries, Departments, Governmental and Non-Governmental Organisations, Universities, Industries, Municipal bodies, Newspapers, Electronic and Television channels for reaching the milestone as set in our vision and mission statement.

Launch of IIGL Vision Document

The vision document of the Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership (IIGL) being released by Hon'ble Prof.Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor of Tripura during the inaugural session of the 2018 United Nations World Teachers Day and Higher Education & Research Summit. The summit was jointly organised and assisted by the Confederation of Indian Universities (CIU), Confederation of Young Leaders (CYL) and the Indian Institute of Governance & Leadership (IIGL) at New Delhi on 5 October 2018.
Confederation of Young Leaders

Confederation of Young Leaders (CYL) is one of the foremost chambers for youth organizations and young leaders in India working at the grass-root level & with strong national and international linkages. Collectively programs at CYL engaged more than 50,000 Youth who spearheaded shaping it as a fountainhead of knowledge for youth citizenry, which is all set to redefine the dynamics of growth and development in the 21st century. CYL is backed by a stellar Board of Advisors which includes Governors, United Nations Advisors, Bureaucrats and Vice Chancellors. The CYL Youth Dialogue series has drawn wide attention from the political and academic circles of India including from the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modi.

CYL charts change by working closely with Government, Departments and Foreign Missions to support their vision and mission, interfacing with thought leaders, and enhancing efficiency, competitiveness and opportunities for young leaders through a range of engagements and strategic linkages. Extending its agenda beyond engagements, CYL assists youth organizations to identify need for mutual and practical cooperation among the youth organizations, exchange of information, export and import of educational know-how, control on replication of efforts and wastage in youth-oriented education, besides strengthening the financial health of the existing youth organization for the ideal development of New Young India.
Confederation of Young Leaders (CYL) is one of the leading institution working in the sphere of Public Diplomacy, International Relations, Government, Public Affairs and Public Policy. Amongst many projects and initiatives, the Confederation of Young Leaders (CYL) has been a pioneer in organizing Track II Diplomatic Dialogues in order to promote young people to people friendship with partner countries for which it has received appreciation from eminent personalities like the Hon'ble Vice President of India, Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Union Ministers, Governors and Chief Ministers across India. In this connection, several youth dialogues have been conducted by the confederation in collaboration with foreign missions in India including South Korea, China, Czech Republic, Serbia, Israel, Bolivia, Venezuela, Azerbaijan, Vietnam, Guatemala, Norway, Georgia, Bangladesh, Argentina, Indonesia, Lithuania, Nepal, Myanmar, Luxembourg, Nepal, Botswana, Seychelles, Zambia, Nigeria, Ghana and Peru. The Government of India has set up an ambitious plan of accelerating India’s national development in the coming 3 years when India shall celebrate 75 Years of Independence. It is in this regards, CYL is extensively working to boost India's global image through various international engagements spearheaded by Young People.
With endorsements and acknowledgments from the most influential public leaders, CYL is committed to build the strong cadre of future public leaders. It is in this connection that CYL launched the Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership (IIGL) to build the most advanced national institutions to create public leaders.
Programs at CYL have had celebrated the achievements, success stories and innovative governance initiatives launched by the Government of India under the dynamic leadership of the learned Prime Minister of India Hon’ble Shri. Narendra Modi. Confederation of Young Leaders has further envisaged a ten year (2018-2027) learning and teaching methodologies for ensuring gainful employment for the young boys and girls belonging to all the States and the Union Territories for producing trained manpower.
Acknowledging the efforts towards Youth Promotion and Development; CYL was conferred upon the "Global Youth Promotion and Development" Award on the auspicious occasion of the United Nations World Teachers Day Celebrations at New Delhi constituted by IAEWP (Affiliated to UN-ECOSOC, UNICEF, UNESCO, DPI), Afro-Asian-American Chamber of Commerce, Occupational Research and Development(ACCORD) and the Indian Institute of Ecology and Environment (IIEE).
