About the Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership (IIGL)
The Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership (IIGL) is an award-winning, pioneering national-level institution, imparting academic training in International Affairs, Government Studies, Ecology, Environment, Sustainable Development, Cleanliness Education, and vocational and short-term academic training. Established in 2017 by the Confederation of Young Leaders of India (CYL) with active cooperation from the Confederation of Indian Universities (CIU), IIGL complements national efforts and translates the goals of the Government of India and State Governments into actionable initiatives. The institute caters to Government, Non-Governmental, and Private sectors by offering short-term vocational studies, training, research, publications, conferences, seminars, and consultancy services in the fields of International Affairs, Governance, Public Leadership, and Entrepreneurship.
Taking forward the illustrious legacy of the Second Prime Minister of India, Bharat Ratna Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, IIGL was established under the guidance of his family. The institute embodies the values of honesty, transparency, and accountability, which the former Prime Minister exemplified, and aims to instill these qualities in the youth. The Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership (IIGL) is fully aligned with the demands of the digital era, fully operating as a distance learning and digital learning institution along with digital operations to serve better the needs of its students and the global community.

It has devised a ten-year plan (2018-2027) to ensure gainful employment for youth across India, producing skilled manpower for flagship government projects like Make in India, Clean India, Skill India, Digital India, and Startup India. Along with its educational activities, IIGL also engages in research, consultancy, and producing audiovisual content, with plans for a major publications program.

Launch of IIGL Vision Document
The vision document of the Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership (IIGL) being released by Hon'ble Prof.Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor of Tripura during the inaugural session of the 2018 United Nations World Teachers Day and Higher Education & Research Summit. The summit was jointly organised and assisted by the Confederation of Indian Universities (CIU), Confederation of Young Leaders (CYL) and the Indian Institute of Governance & Leadership (IIGL) at New Delhi on 5 October 2018.

Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership - IIGL being conferred upon the coveted 2020 World Award for Value Education (WAVE) constituted by the World Assembly on Value Education on the strong recommendation of the Confederation of Indian Universities (CIU) on 13th March 2020 during the World Assembly on Value Education at New Delhi in presence of national and international dignitaries.
Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership (IIGL) has been honored with the coveted ‘’Global Vocational Education Promotion and Development Award 2024’’ at the United Nations World Teachers’ Day and Higher Education and Development Summit 2024 on 5 October 2024. Confederation of Young Leaders
Confederation of Young Leaders of India (CYL) continues to be one of the foremost institutions for youth organizations and young leaders in India working at the grassroots level & with strong national and international linkages. Since its inception in 2017, CYL has carved a unique identity globally, empowering over 50,000 youth annually while forging meaningful national and international linkages. Our programs have been widely recognized, including by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi. The Confederation has been guided by the vision and leadership of eminent figures such as Padma Vibhushan awardee Dr. Sonal Mansingh, Minister Smt Meenakashi Lekhi, and Minister Shri Suresh Prabhu, who have served as our founding patrons. With a strong presence in 22 states, CYL works at both micro and macro levels, engaging young leaders to promote the Government of India’s transformative initiatives such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Digital India, and Start-Up India.
Taking forward the illustrious legacy of the former Prime Minister of India, Bharat Ratna, Sh. Lal Bahadur Shastri, CYL was jointly established under the guidance and leadership of the former Prime Minister's family. The institution thereby lives by the principles of honesty, transparency and accountability which the Former Prime Minister lived by and envisions imparting the same in its youth citizenry.
With endorsements and acknowledgments from the most influential global public leaders, CYL is committed to build the strong cadre of future public leaders. It is in this connection that CYL launched the Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership (IIGL) to build the most advanced national institutions to create public leaders.
